Day 2 Toronto Indy: Qualifying.

Saturday qualifying is over, and Franchitti, the 1999 race winner, clinched the poll position for tomorrow’s race, speeding around the track today in 1:01.0429 seconds. Canadian Alex Tagliani qualified 5th, and hometown favourite Paul Tracy qualified 15th. The rain played a major factor in this morning’s practice, as the circuit was temporarily closed during a half-hour long or so terrential downpour. When it was time for the multi-stage qualification, the sun had come out, and the track was dry.
